Questions, not queries
It reads your live books and answers from them — with the figures, not a guess.

It reaches 128 carefully chosen things — your invoices, customers, payments and ageing, expenses, day book and reports, stock and orders, deals and tasks, and your GST return summary. Five of them can create something: an invoice, a customer, an expense, a task or a logged activity.
What it can never do
Most of this page is about limits, because that is what the decision turns on.
It cannot move money. Not a setting — absent.
Refunds, payouts, GST filing, e-invoices, e-way bills, your saved provider passwords, employee records, your mailbox, journal postings and whole-book export are not on the connected surface at all. There is no switch to leave on by mistake. Ask an assistant to refund a payment and it will tell you it has no way to.
One connection reaches one business.
You pick the workspace when you approve, and it is fixed at that moment — not re-read on each question, so a connection cannot be talked into switching. Run three businesses and connect three times; remove any one on its own.
Read-only stays read-only.
An assistant can never do more in a workspace than the person who connected it. Invited as a team member or an accountant? The assistant gets the reading half and nothing else — the approval screen says so before you agree, and the button reads Allow read access.
Everything it did, and everything it was refused.
Every request lands in your activity log, named by assistant, with how long it took and whether it succeeded. The refusals are recorded too — an assistant that reached for something it is not allowed leaves a line saying so, rather than leaving nothing at all.
You and your team's owner can end it.
Disconnect and it stops working on its very next request, not when its session expires. If someone on your team connected an assistant to a business you own, you can see that and end it too.
Your books stay in Mumbai. Your answers do not.
Finocket stores your data on Indian servers and that does not change. But an answer is composed on the assistant's own servers, which are outside India, and sits in your history with that provider under their rules — including their support and operations teams, some outsourced. We say so plainly rather than in a footnote.

For chartered accountants and consultants
The read-only rule is what makes this usable on a client's books.
You are invited to your clients’ workspaces as an accountant, which lets you read the books without changing them. An assistant you connect there inherits exactly that: it can answer questions, pull statements and read a GST position, and it cannot write into books that are not yours to change.
Your client sees the connection on their own settings page, marked read-only, and can end it themselves. Get their agreement before you connect — it is their data that travels, not yours.
