Gold in, gold out β weighed to the last gram.
Gold, silver and diamond traders don't bill like anyone else: metal value and making charges taxed apart, purity-wise stock, old-gold exchange across the counter, and high-value pieces worth tracking one at a time. Finocket fits the showroom.
You already know the pain.
Metal and making charges aren't one line.
Gold is taxed on its value; the making charge is a service taxed at its own rate. Bill them as a single line and your GST is wrong from the very first invoice.
A single piece can be worth a month's rent.
Weighted guesses don't cut it when one necklace locks up lakhs. You need the exact metal on hand, by purity, and the big pieces followed one by one.
Every sale can start with a buy-back.
A customer brings old gold, you weigh it, and it offsets the new purchase. If that metal never re-enters your stock, your books and your safe stop agreeing.
What Finocket does for you.
Price by karat, stone & making charge
Choose "Price by karat, stone & making charge" on a line and it shows the metal weight, today's rate for that purity, any stone value, and making/wastage - each its own line, before GST is applied exactly like every other invoice line. A rate older than your shop's freshness setting is flagged so a stale rate never quietly prices a real sale. HSN 7113 and your rate stay on the item either way.
Stock by purity, pieces by serial
Track stock with batches for each purity or lot, and turn on per-unit serials for the high-value pieces you follow individually β valued FIFO, with landed costs added on imported purchases.
Old-gold exchange nets against the sale
Weigh what the customer brought in, enter today's rate and any assay deduction, and pick the invoice it settles - it posts as one balanced entry and can never exceed the invoice total; the difference becomes a credit note instead. What's in the safe and what's in the books always tie out.
Karigar job-work & repairs
Issue metal to a karigar, record what comes back, and settle the making charge and wastage as one balanced entry, only once. Book a customer repair from estimate to delivery. A piece out with a karigar or in for repair can't be sold until it's back, and returns to stock by itself.
Gold savings, kept honest as bookkeeping
Running a gold-savings or "digital gold" arrangement at the counter? Finocket keeps each customer's balance in grams - what they paid in, what they redeem against a jewellery invoice, valued at that day's rate. This is a record-keeping tool, not a payment product: no gateway, no KYC step, and money never moves through Finocket.
Your own storefront, on your own domain (beta)
Publish your catalogue to Finocket's native storefront - pick a theme, write your pages, point your own domain at it. Your items list themselves; it shows up in the same connected-channels view as Amazon or Flipkart.
Cash, UPI and cheque, kept apart
A Tally-style cashbook keeps Cash, UPI, Cheque and Bank Transfer in separate tabs, totalled by day, so a cash-heavy counter reconciles in a scan, not a spreadsheet.
Advances on custom orders
Making a piece to order? Send an estimate the customer accepts online, collect a deposit up front, and convert it to the final invoice in one tap when they come to collect.
Stock value in your final accounts
Closing Stock on the balance sheet and Cost of Goods Sold on the P&L, at FIFO or weighted-average cost β so the metal locked in your showroom shows up exactly where your CA expects it.
Speak the bill at the counter
Dictate an invoice in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi or English and it comes back as a filled-in draft you read before it saves. It is careful about what it doesn't know: a line it couldn't make out is dropped and flagged rather than guessed at, a rate worked back from a total is flagged as derived, a date you didn't say is defaulted and flagged, and a customer it can't place hands you the add-customer form instead of picking someone who looks close. It creates no new way to save an invoice β it fills in the same draft you'd type.
Who's due back, from your own invoices
Finocket reads your own invoice history and works out which customers are due to buy again, using the median gap between their purchases rather than the average β so one festival bulk order can't hide a six-week rhythm. Item identity is matched literally, so a 22k chain and a 24k chain never merge into one product. Every suggestion carries the evidence you can check against your own records, and a counter with too little history gets zero suggestions plus a plain statement of what's missing, never a padded list. It produces the offer and a draft quote you confirm β it does not contact anybody by itself.
Hand-to-CA ZIP + read-only invite
Roll any period into one ZIP β every invoice, statement, Day Book, Outstanding and GSTR-1/3B β or invite your CA as a read-only member who gets everything they need to file, but can never change a figure.
The bar we hold ourselves to
The metal in my safe and the metal in my books finally match at closing β down to the gram.
What we set out to fix for jewellers reconciling stock, making charges and old-gold buy-backs by hand
Don't see your trade, or need something specific to it?
The kits and pages above cover what Finocket ships today - they are not the limit of what it can become. Tell us what your business does and what a bill, a stock count or a report needs to look like for it, and our own team will scope it honestly: what already works, what we'd build, and roughly how long that takes. This is an invitation to talk, not a promise of an overnight feature.
