GSTR-9 annual return summary

See a full financial-year GST summary built from your invoices and expenses — outward supplies by rate, ITC and tax paid — to prepare and cross-check before filing GSTR-9.

GSTR-9 is the annual GST return — a once-a-year consolidation of everything you reported through the year in GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B. Finocket computes the GSTR-9 working tables from your own invoices and expenses, so you or your CA see the full-year picture before filing.

Open the annual summary

From GST → Returns, open GSTR-9 annual and pick a financial year (April to March). Finocket pulls that year's sales and purchases and lays out the numbers the way GSTR-9 groups them — as working tables matching the return's own structure:

  • Table 4 — outward supplies on which tax is payable: taxable value and CGST/SGST/IGST/cess for the year, broken down by rate and split B2B (customers with a GSTIN) vs B2C, with credit notes netted off.
  • Table 5 — outward supplies on which tax is not payable (exports under LUT, nil-rated, exempt).
  • Table 6 — input tax credit availed across the year from your eligible purchases.
  • Table 9 — tax paid: output liability and the net position after ITC.

What to do with it

Use it as your reconciliation aid: put the computed tables next to your filed GSTR-1s and 3Bs for the year, chase any month where they disagree (a missed invoice, an ITC claimed twice, a credit note in the wrong period), and then fill the actual GSTR-9 on the GST portal — or hand the working to your CA. It is not a filed return and reflects only what you've recorded in Finocket.

Access & control

Owners and assistants open and use the summary; an invited accountant sees it read-only — for many CAs this working paper is the main year-end deliverable. Requires the GST module and your GSTIN set.

Frequently asked questions

Who has to file GSTR-9?

GST-registered businesses above the turnover exemption threshold (regular taxpayers; composition dealers file GSTR-9A instead, and GSTR-9C audit reconciliation applies above the higher turnover band). Check the current year's notification or ask your CA — thresholds get revised.

Is Finocket's GSTR-9 view an actual filing?

No — it's a computed working from your books, structured like the return's tables so preparation and cross-checking are fast. You file on the GST portal or through your CA.

Why don't the annual numbers match my monthly returns?

The annual view is rebuilt from your recorded books, while the monthly returns are what you actually filed. A gap usually means something was recorded after filing, filed from outside Finocket, or netted in a different period — exactly the differences GSTR-9 exists to surface.

Can my CA see this directly?

Yes — invite them read-only and they open the same working tables live, alongside your statements and the Hand-to-CA export.
