Reports, GSTR-1 / 3B and Hand-to-CA
Cashflow, income vs expenses, projects, GST returns (GSTR-1, 3B, 8, ITC summary), TDS summary and the one-tap Hand-to-CA ZIP bundle.
Every report you need for a normal filing month lives here: dashboards and a full report catalog, GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B computed from your books with a due-date calendar, the ITC loop closed after filing, and the one-tap Hand-to-CA ZIP that packages a whole period for your accountant.
Where reports live
The Reports hub opens tabbed dashboards — cashflow, income vs expenses, top clients, projects, expenses by category. All reports is the full catalog: a grouped tree of every report (financial statements, GST, marketplaces, productivity, personal), with favourites you can star and quick access to what you opened last. Accountant-mode users see Tally-style labels on the same reports.
File GSTR-1 from Finocket, step by step
- Open GST → Returns and pick the month.
- Finocket computes your outward supplies from your invoices — B2B, B2CL, B2CS, exports and nil-rated, in the shape the GSTN portal's offline tool accepts.
- Download the GSTR-1 export (a ZIP of the return files). Each generated period is snapshotted, so you always know what you exported.
- Upload it in the GST portal's offline tool / returns dashboard, verify the summary and file with OTP/DSC.
- The due-date calendar on the same screen shows what's due when, so nothing slips.
The GSTR-3B view
For the same period, Finocket computes the GSTR-3B summary: Section 3.1 outward supplies, Section 4 ITC available — built from your ITC-eligible expenses, including reverse-charge (RCM) supplies shown separately — and tax paid. Preview on screen, then use the numbers to file 3B on the portal.
After filing, tap Mark ITC claimed for the period: the month's eligible expenses are stamped claimed, drop out of available ITC and get an ITC claimed chip on the Expenses list — so a later 3B never double-counts credit you've already taken.
GSTR-8, GSTR-2B and the annual return
- GSTR-8 reconciliation (marketplace sellers) — diff your books against marketplace TCS settlements before filing. See the GSTR-8 guide.
- GSTR-2B purchase reconciliation — upload your 2B JSON and bucket purchases into matched / mismatch / missing. See the GSTR-2B guide.
- GSTR-9 annual — full-year working tables to prepare the annual return. See the GSTR-9 guide.
The Hand-to-CA ZIP
Open Reports → Hand to your CA, pick a preset (“This quarter”, “Year to date”, “Current FY (Apr–Mar)”) or a custom range, and Finocket bundles one ZIP: every invoice PDF named by number, a statement per client, Day Book, GSTR-1 and 3B for each month — plus Tally XML of masters and vouchers, and a README so your CA knows exactly what's inside. Share it over WhatsApp or email.
Access & control
Owners and assistants generate returns and exports; an invited accountant opens every report and download read-only — most CAs live here. GST screens need the GST module on (Profile → Modules) and your GSTIN set in your business profile.

Frequently asked questions
How do I file GSTR-1 step by step?
Compute it from your books in Finocket (GST → Returns → pick month → download the export), then upload in the GST portal's offline tool, verify the summary and file with OTP or DSC. Your invoices are the source, so keep them recorded through the month and filing becomes a 10-minute job.
What's the difference between GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B?
GSTR-1 is the detailed invoice-wise return of your outward supplies (what you sold, to whom). GSTR-3B is the monthly summary where you declare totals and actually pay tax after ITC. Finocket computes both from the same books so they can't drift apart.
Can I file GSTR-1 myself without a CA?
Yes. If your invoices are recorded, Finocket produces the portal-ready export and the 3B summary — many small businesses self-file monthly and involve their CA for the annual return. The Hand-to-CA ZIP keeps your CA in the loop either way.
Where do I see my GST due dates?
The due-date calendar on GST → Returns lists what's due for each period, so GSTR-1 and 3B never sneak up on you.
